About the author
Rogers (1883-1966), born in Jamaica, was among the first African-American scholars to re-examine European history from an Afrocentric perspective. The current work, which went into many printings, provides a sort of "sampler" of his researches in the areas of the Arts, Ancient Civilizations, Exploration, Sports, etc. He was the author of a number of larger works, including "Sex And Race" and "The World's Great Men of Color."
