About the Author
Imam Hajji Wali A. Furqan is a student of the late Imam W. D. Mohammed (ra). He received a B.S. in business from Truman State University and has worked in Islamic ministry since 1975. He is Imam at the St. Louis, Missouri Pioneers Culture Center and founding president of Paying Attention to Our Youth (PATOY), an advocacy organization promoting greater parental responsibility. With his wife of 41 years, he credits his faith with giving him his greatest achievement--raising seven successful children against the odds. Among the Furqan children are naval officers and service academy graduates, masters degree recipients, master apprentices, and a youngest child currently in junior college.
